Misys says the Opics system will enable the bank to support a wider range of treasury products on a single platform, including those developed for the Islamic market.

The system offers real-time information across all positions and exposures and provides up-to-date profiling and reporting through data links with the vendor's Bankmaster product. Opics also includes Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for data transfer with third party systems.

The system also supports the bank's compliance with IAS 39, the international standard relating to accounting for derivative financial instruments and hedging activities.

John Eldredge, general manager and head of treasury markets, Arab National Bank, says Opics covers all current treasury activities and will help the bank introduce new products in the future.

"The Misys solution also enabled us to put all treasury products on the same platform for risk management and same cash flow analysis," adds Eldredge.
