The deal comes after a four month tender process examining technology solutions that sufficiently support current levels of growth in Westpac's wealth management area, says Brett Himbury, Westpac's head of financial planning and advice.

The platform will be rolled out to all of Westpac's financial planners in the first quarter of 2002.

Rival bank AMP is also due to deploy a new Web-based financial planning and advice service to its financial planners later this month, as the Australian wealth management industry steps up a gear.
