AMP integrates fund supermarket with Interactive Investor

AMP is to integrate its online investment supermarket, Ample, with UK personal finance operation Interactive Investor by first quarter 2002, following the acquisition of the company in August.

John Blowers, head of sales and marketing, Ample, says: "With over one million registered users, Interactive Investor has the largest and most active online investment user base in the UK...With the backing of AMP, we fully intend to become the number one online investment service in the UK."

The integrated fund supermarket gives investors access to 25 ISA providers with a choice of 430 funds. Typical initial charges will run at 1%.

Features of the new service include a fund filtering tool, and optional professional management and investment services. An online share dealing facility allows users to buy and sell UK listed shares.

In the interim period, the two services will continue as separate sites, with Interactive Investor operating under the new brand of Ample Interactive Investor.

Launched in June 2001, Ample is an online investment service backed by Australian financial services group AMP. It combines news and information content with the ability to buy and sell ISA funds online.
