UK watchdog, the Financial Services Authority, has launched a new financial planning tool available on CD Rom to help consumers take control over their finances.
FSA Financial Planning is available to the UK public free direct from the FSA's consumer helpline or from any Citizens Advice Bureaux, library or housing association.
The CD Rom will take users through a simple five step financial plan and includes an interactive quiz to establish personal goals and priorities, a personal budget calculator to help track income and spending, guidance on what to consider when choosing products, and information on consumer rights.
Deborah Arnott, head of consumer education at the FSA, comments: "Many of us put off getting on top of our finances because it seems like such a daunting prospect. FSA Financial Planning should help to make it an easier and more appealing task."
