Denmark's PBS outsources IT to IBM

Danish payments body Payment Business Services (PBS) has signed a seven year deal to outsource the operation and management of its IT infrastructure to IBM. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The contract covers the operations and maintenance of PBS's IT infrastructure, including mainframe, mid-range servers and network.

Under the agreement 71 IT staff will transfer from PBS to IBM.

Commenting on the contract, Flemming Jensen, CEO, PBS, says: "As we continue to focus on the development and operation of payment services, our core business, we also want a strong IT partner who can meet our requirements for flexible, scalable solutions and support our international growth strategy."

PBS says it will retain responsibility for system operation and client relationships.
