In announcing the sale, Scipher says Purple Voice was identified in the company's strategic review as a non-core business for disposal.

IPC first acquired a controlling interest in Purple Voice - a spin-off from Thorn EMI's research labs - in August last year.

Integrated with IPC's Alliance MX switch, Purple Voice's software provides off-floor stafff such as researchers, analysts, and retail brokers with access to audio broadcasts, intercom calls, group calls and hoots regardless of the user's location.
