Don't be a Scrooge this holiday

Aaron Patzer, founder of money management software start-up Mint, extols the virtue of his patent-pending technology engine in a video posted via prnewswire. The system aggregates all your spending across all your bank accounts and classifies transactions so that you can see at a glance what you're spending your money on and where you can trim any excesses. You can use the system to set a monthly budget for each area of spending and Mint will e-mail you when your about to reach your limit.

As Patzer says: "No one wants to be a Scrooge around the holidays, but you also don't want to go into debt."

The product is currently only available in the US after launching in September. The rest of us big spenders can instead amuse ourselves by doing the Scrooge with OfficeMax. Go on, Scrooge yourself.
