Finextra and Caplin Systems recently recorded a webcast looking at how the financial services industry is leveraging RIA technologies and creating a more full service customer experience.
The panel had a spirited discussion.
"I would say these days you are losing clients if you don't have that kind of offering....If you do not have it, you are going to lose customers because they are going to go to the other single bank platforms," according to Xavier Alexandre of Unicredit.
"At the end of the day, whether it is a corporate transaction or an institutional transaction, it is fundamentally a transaction, people want certainty of execution, certainty of credit and risk," says Kevin Bourne of HSBC discussing design and common APIs.
"I think it is improved, from the bank point of view it is also improved a lot productivity, of the flow, the cost of ticket is reduced and you directly reduce as well the error costs, manual typing errors. I saw many examples where you can justify the cost of building such platforms just by looking at the error that was made first," says Stephane Malrait of Societe Generale.
