Kind of predictable to see ECB "surprised" again. But definitely this might turn into a monetary revolution that destabilizes the countries' currences, as we know them, in many geographies. 

Ketharaman - agree, in it's current version it's nothing new, but the last paragraph hints that they plan to become full-fledged rival of Transferwise:

"HSBC's Criscitiello says the bank intends to ultimately extend the payment service to allow instant international transfers to customers with other banks, too."

Smart move, fintech is on the rise since few years in multiple segments such as money transfer, mobile banking, payment, asset management and digital inheritance.
