The latest contract follows an initial installation of ATMs at CCB during the first seven months of the year.

The upsurge of interest in self-service delivery options comes as China's banks review their channel mix in preparation for a more competitive marketplace.

At CCB, the new machines will provide access to bill payment and electronic funds transfer between foreign currency and savings accounts and will enable customers to review stock transactions, account balances, banking statements and advertisements via the ATM.

Diebold says some provincial bank branches are also planning to differentiate themselves from competitors by selling airline tickets at the machines.
