The company, Romania's largest mobile operator with 2.7 million subscribers and 49% market share, is using Macalla's Mobile Top-Up software to connect customer handsets with Connex's internal IT infrastructure and billing systems. Upon receipt of a top-up request, the software seeks bank authorisation to debit the subscriber's account and issues an instruction to credit the handset if approved.

The subscriber then receives instant SMS notification confirming the success of the transaction. SIM cards and integration services for the scheme have been provided by SchlumbergerSema.
