Under the agreement, the SchlumbergerSema global sales team will be promoting Macalla's mobile e-commerce platform, which enables customers to recharge their prepaid mobile account from a variety of payment sources including bank accounts, ePurse, credit and debit card.

Customers will also be able charge purchases to their phone account.

Macalla says its solution is more economical than traditional voucher or scratchcard payments and is particularly suited for low value digital purchases such as ring tones, pictures, audio clips and parking tickets.

The system could also increase customer loyalty and reduce churn amongst a traditionally volatile group, adds Macalla.

Niall O'Cleirigh, CEO, Macalla Software, says: "SchlumbergerSema's global reach will result in significant promotion of our joint offering into the world's leading mobile operators."
