DSTi acquires Bremer middleware

Investment management solutions vendor DTS International (DSTi) has acquired the rights to Bremer Associate's MetaStreamer middleware technology and customer base.

Bremer's MetaStreamer software, renamed HiWay by DSTi, can integrate real-time data, batch data or databases and applications, and perform transformations for onward routing.

HiWay creates a centralised data repository for the transfer of information between systems that is independent of hardware, operating systems, communications protocols, and types of databases.

Through the acquisition, DSTi says it will be able to facilitate and complement trade processing, trade matching, settlement, reconciliation, data cleansing, compliance checking and other similar applications, while providing full Swift, FIX, XML, ISITC and other data formats support.

Mike Winn, DSTi’s group managing director, comments: "The acquisition of the MetaStreamer products extends our ability to integrate our products with other datasources or destinations or other applications, and expand our industry-leading STP capabilities. HiWay will be focused on interfacing our clients’ various internal systems, including their DSTi products."

Privately-owned Bremer Associates employs 25 people and is based in Newton, Ma. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
