Deutsche Bank adds Thai bonds to autobahn

Deutsche Bank is to extend its e-commerce bond and credit note trading platform autobahn to the Thai markets at the end of the month.

The platform will go 'live' with the trading of Thai government bonds via Bloomberg terminals on 28 November. Autobahn is a self-execution platform allowing clients to trade on-line, rather than making calls through a sales desk.

"With autobahn, we will be able to provide our clients with yet another means of efficient execution and liquidity for their portfolio management needs", says Loh Boon Chye, head, global markets, Asia, Deutsche Bank, Singapore.

Deutsche Bank launched Autobahn in 1996, beginning with real-time electronic trading of US treasuries. Since then, the system has been expanded and upgraded to provide automated execution of over 5,000 issues in 18 currencies.

The trading platform is linked to Deutsche Bank's sales and trading system, where the sales desk is informed electronically of all transactions and may step in to support trades as and when required.
