Under the programme, Logica will be able to supply EMV related solutions to Visa member banks, accelerating the move from magnetic stripe credit and debit cards towards chip-based payment.

Steve Fletcher, Logica's senior solution consultant describes EMV migration as the single most important development in the card payment industry since the introduction of the magnetic strip. "As well as helping to eradicate fraud, it will also give the banks a great opportunity to provide new and innovative offerings to their customers," he says.

Logica's EMV Enabler package is a software solution pitched at merchants, acquiring and issuing banks, and shared payments switches who are migrating towards EMV compliance. The vendor is offering the package alongside a range of associated consultancy, project management and professional services.

Visa's Asia Pacific chip migration partner programme currently features solutions from 16 of the region's smart card vendor companies.
