Soliton adds Reuters' DataScope to TimeSquare market data system

Toronto-based financial software systems developer Soliton Associates is to provide access to Reuters' DataScope feed through the TimeSquare Market Data Server.

Reuters DataScope provides end-of-day prices and corporate actions from 140 exchanges worldwide, spot rates on 175 currencies, cross and forward rates and an extensive cross reference facility.

Under the agreement, Solition's TimeSquare market data solution for the middle to back-office and research departments of financial services firms, will be used to acquire and host periodic data from Reuters, and deliver it automatically or on request to end-user applications.

Piers MacWhannell, Reuters third party relationship manager, says: “TimeSquare enables new clients to start processing Reuters DataScope data within days, including complete market data workflow management, potentially saving them months of implementation time and a good deal of development costs.”

TimeSquare solutions are available on either Sun Microsystems or IBM Unix platforms, and accessible from Windows 95, 98, 2000 and NT desktop clients using MS Excel, Query, Access and other ODBC compliant applications. A Web server option supports standard browsers as well.
