As existing users of the FD Crossfire trading system for Liffe and Eurex, Nomura has decided to install Viewpoint to automate trade flow from execution through to matching, allocation and back office integration.

"We have been using Crossfire very successfully for 18 months in our London trading operation and the decision to take Viewpoint was logical", says a Nomura spokesperson. "In addition to Viewpoint’s functionality the fact that it shares the same database as Crossfire immediately gives us an efficient STP engine from front to back."

In addition to automating Liffe and Eurex trade flows, Viewpoint will be receiving trade data from other internal trading front ends. From a back office perspective, auto matching will be extended to incorporate information from Nomura’s clearing brokers.

Nomura has also purchased more Crossfire screens and the Chicago Board of Trade a/c/e and CME Globex 2 API connections.
