The personal finance management-heavy app taps the Kindle Fire's seven inch colour touchscreen to offer graphs and visual representations of consumer accounts and transactions.

Customers can use their Kindle to plan cash outflows with the help of an interactive chart of past and future payments and transfers; analyse spending habits through automatically generated, customisable charts; and compare their habits with general consumer data, filtering by location, age group, income bracket and purchase category.

The Kindle Fire relies solely on the Amazon Appstore store, bypassing the official Android Market. In January Wells Fargo bought its Android app to the Fire through the Amazon store but Citi says it is the first bank to design an app from scratch for the tablet.

Tracey Weber, MD, consumer Internet and mobile banking, North America, Citi, says: "When Amazon launched Kindle Fire, we understood our customers would want a customized app that brings dynamic banking capabilities to this popular new tablet, and we worked swiftly to create one. With the bestselling Kindle Fire, we are offering our clients yet another way to easily manage their finances, wherever they are and whenever they want."

Meanwhile, the firm has also introduced a mobile cheque deposit feature and the Popmoney person-to-person payments service to its various Apple and Android apps.
