Registration has opened for EBAday 2012, the pre-eminent annual event for the European payments industry, which will run for two full days from 15-16 May at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Scotland.
Payments professionals from across Europe will be swapping their euros for Scottish pound notes as EBAday crosses the Channel to the historic financial centre of Scotland for the seventh annual European payments forum.
The conference programme at EBAday 2012 - organised by the Euro Banking Association and Finextra - features keynotes, panel discussions and break-out sessions comprising more than 50 of Europe's leading figures in payments.
With the European Parliament recently passing legislation creating a legally-binding deadline of 1 February 2014 for banks to migrate to Sepa-compliant credit transfers and direct debits, there will be many practical challenges for EBAday 2012 to address.
The top-level seminar programme at EBAday is complemented by a bustling exhibition floor, showcasing the complete spectrum of payment processing services from leading banks, ACHs, technology vendors and consultancies.
After a record-breaking turnout in Madrid last year, the EBA and Finextra are preparing for another bumper crowd at this year's event, with top banks taking the lead in support of the event and exhibition floor space selling fast.
