An influential panel of senior executives, practitioners and key stakeholders from across the mobile banking industry will gather in Barcelona on 21 March to debate the key issues facing banks, telecoms carriers and handset manufacturers as they bid to provide smartphone-toting consumers with a new generation of mobile banking and payments apps.

Hosted by Spanish bank La Caixa, the event will also include a delegate networking area showcasing the latest mobile banking services and products from leading banks, network operators, technology vendors and consultancies.

Established in 2000, the Mobey Forum brings together leading financial institutions, mobile network operators, mobile handset manufacturers, payment processors and vendors, committed to accelerating the mass-market deployment of user-friendly mobile financial services by promoting open and secure technology standards.

Mobey Forum is led by its Board of Directors from Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, DnB NOR, HSBC, La Caixa, Nokia, Nordea, PostFinance, Rabobank and UBS. The membership comprises of the leading organisations within the mobile financial services market representing more than 450 million banking customers globally, around 25% of the market.

MobeyDay directly follows the Mobey Forum's Annual General Meeting in Barcelona, assuring a high quality audience of over 250 leading senior mobile executives from banks and financial institutions from across 20 European countries.

Finextra expects MobeyDay to emulate the success of EBADay - run in association with the Euro banking Association - which has firmly established itself as Europe's leading annual payments conference and exhibition.
