Scandinavian IT services group TietoEnator has won a contract with EnterCard - a Nordic credit card firm set up by Swedbank and the UK's Barclays Bank – to supply a system that will enable cardholders to access account details and services over the Web.
EnterCard is a group of credit-card issuing companies operating in the Nordic-Baltic region. The group, which was founded by Barclays Bank and Swedbank in 2005, issues and manages credit cards on behalf of partners, and directly to consumers using its own consumer brand.
TietoEnator says Entercard has already implemented its e-banking technology package. The system provides cardholders with 24x7 access to credit card transaction details and other services.
The vendor says one of Entercard's Norwegian clients went live with the technology in September 2006 and was immediately followed by a number of Swedish customers. The system will be extended to Entercard's other customers in the Nordic region.
Pedram Tadayon, CIO of Entercard International, says: "We selected TietoEnator after examining various industry offerings and concluded that TietoEnator's e-banking functionality best suited our requirements and our customers' needs."
