BT has named Phil Mottram as managing director of its trading systems unit, replacing industry veteran Rod MacDonald who is stepping down at the end of the year.
Mottram has spent the past eight years working across a number of divisions within BT, most recently as vice president, UK and global business market development.
Prior to BT, Mottram he worked for a number organisations including Sprint and AT&T within the financial services industry.
In his new role Mottram will be based in London and will report to Laurie Bowen, vice president of BT Global Financial Services.
Mottram takes over from MacDonald, who has been managing director of BT's trading systems unit since 1996. After 35 years in the industry, MacDonald has decided to retire from BT at the end of the year.
