Dutch bank ING has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with IT services firm Getronics PinkRoccade to establish a joint venture that will deliver electronic invoicing and payment services to corporate firms in The Netherlands.
ING Bank and Getronics will be working together to develop a European platform for the electronic distribution and processing of payment slips.
The Biller Service Provider will initially be aimed at businesses providing services to private individuals, but in due course the service will also be used for business-to-business invoicing.
The new service will enable businesses to send electronic payment slips to private individuals' Internet banking facilities. Customers will be able to read the digital payment slip and pay it with a single click. Once payment has been made, the digital payment slips and relevant invoices will be archived immediately.
Getronics PinkRoccade will develop and manage the secure ICT-platform for the biller system, while ING will provide financial services.
