Barclays has awarded Getronics a five-year EUR200 million contract to provide desktop and application support to over 30,000 users, principally in the UK.
The deal represents Getronics' largest ever financial services win.
The contract, which calls for the provision of workspace management, technology transformation and applications, will be serviced primarily out of the United Kingdom with support from the firm's Spanish operations and its Global Service Centre in Budapest.
Paul Idzik, chief operating officer of Barclays says: "Getronics’ workspace and application management services provide us with the support and flexibility we need to continue to evolve and optimise our IT environment cost effectively."
The two-stage project will first focus on the transition of current technology and business practices, followed by the installation and integration of new technology in order to improve the efficiency of the workspace management system.
