National Australia Bank UK (NAB UK) has appointed business process outsourcing firm Xchanging to manage indirect spend and transactional procurement processing on behalf of Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank.
The deal covers all of the indirect spend transacted by the two UK banks, including marketing, ATMs, travel, recruitment, facilities/utilities management as well as non-core IT spend.
As part of the partnership, Xchanging will also manage the banks' transactional procurement activity, such as order raising and invoice processing, by delivering a fully managed procure-to-pay service.
Tom Burns, general manager, operations of NAB UK, says the agreement supports the bank's UK "simplification strategy", enabling the organisation to focus on its core business functions.
