National Australia Bank has contracted with European payments software house Clear2Pay for delivery of an Internet-based banking payments system for businesses.
The implementation will entail the introduction of a browser-based front-end for both customers and bank staff backed up by Clear2Pay's Bank Payments Hub component-based framework.
A service oriented architecture based on J2EE standards, the Bank Payment Hub combines existing well-functioning modules together with new payments components through a Business Process Manager.
The Hub is used to enrich, route and management payments as they move between the back office and the bank's multiple delivery channels.
Michel Akkermans, CEO and chairman of Clear2Pay says the NAB business reflects the firm's commitment to the region and the sizeable teams in place in Sydney and Melbourne.
The NAB win comes six months after ANZ Bank Australia went live with Clear2Pay's online corporate payments platform, corporate2bank. The corporate2bank system was developed by Australia-based Sienna Technologies, which was acquired by Clear2Pay in 2004.
