Chile's Banco de Crédito e Inversiones (BCI) is deploying Surecomp's Internet-based trade finance software, NetImex.
Surecomp says its NetImex package will enables users to initiate transactions, including letters of credit, standby letters of credit, amendments, payments and acceptances, guarantees, clean payments and export collections, and to extract inquiries and reports.
BCI's Patricio Salinas says the number of bank customers using the Internet has increased by 30% to an average of 85,000 visits per month and so it was only natural that BCI looked to extend Web services to corporate trade services customers.
Surecomp says BCI selected NetImex after a rigorous evaluation process which included page navigation, security issues, management control and customer ease of use.
Vladimir Ramirez, VP, business development, Surecomp, comments: "NetImex, which is easy to use, manage and scale, can readily accommodate the rapid growth in business volumes the bank is anticipating."
