Peru's Banco Interamericano de Finanzas (BIF) is installing an online front-to-back trade finance platform supplied by Surecomp.
The bank has licensed the vendor's Internet-based front end system NetImex, which is designed for use by a bank's corporate and commercial customers. Surecomp says the system manages a range of transactions, including letters of credit, standby letters of credit, amendments, payments and acceptances, guarantees, clean payments and export collections.
BIF will also deploy Surecomp's Windows-based IBSnet, which will be used in the back office.
Isabel Quevedo Ocampo, international business manager at BIF, says: "The in-depth functionality provided by the IBSnet/NetImex combination will allow BIF to leap forward into a new era of trade finance banking."
