South Africa's First National Bank (FNB) is implementing Finantix's J2EE component-based technology to revamp its network of 600 branches.
The vendor says its Finantix Components suite will be used to redesign and streamline FNB's teller system, and transform branches into customer-centric sales and service centres.
Finantix's J2EE software and framework will replace FNB's OS/2-based teller technology and will operate in tight integration with the bank's legacy services.
The thin-client infrastructure will provide a single view of customer information to support focused selling activities and accelerate the processing of transactions and service requests.
Finantix says the new system will greatly reduce FNB's costs and overheads associated with traditional teller environments.
