South Africa's FirstRand Bank has implemented technology from SunGard Business Integration to manage its move to Fin services on the IP-based SwiftNet interbank messaging network.
FirstRand has gone live on SwiftNetFin using SunGard's Mint software, which is interfacing the bank's mainframe-based payment applications with the Fin service.
Owen Jones, director of the payment and Swift services, FirstRand Bank, says the bank will also use the software to access Swift's FileAct service.
The Mint system was supplied and implemented by SunGard's local partner in South Africa, Ensemble Technology.
