Rabobank of the Netherlands is to use business process management technology from Pegasystems for automation projects in trade finance and payments processing.
The PegaRULES Process Commander BPM platform will initially be used by the Dutch co-operative to ease the online management of letters of credit and direct collections. In addition the system will be implemented in payment processing for aggregation, validation and intelligent routing into the group's general ledgers.
Ben Christiaanse, executive vice president payments & savings division at Rabobank Nederland says: "Having a BPM architecture across our business will enable us to deliver enhanced service to our customers as we will be able to more effectively manage our business processes."
The Rabobank payments division already deploys Pega technology for payments investigations and CRM.
David Wells, vice president and managing director of Pegasystems Europe, says the deal further strengthens the strategic relationship between bank and vendor: "It is a great example of how business process management can be tailored to an organisation's needs to make it more agile, profitable and competitive."
