US brokerage firm Charles Schwab is implementing data warehousing technology from NCR-subsidiary Teradata which it will use to consolidate its historical and current operational databases onto a single platform.
Teradata says by moving to its data warehouse Charles Schwab will ensure that frontline staff have direct access to a single version of information for both analytics and decision-support needs. The system will improve decision-making by providing new speed and agility in storing, analysing and interpreting data.
Scott Strait, chief technology officer at Charles Schwab, says by consolidating and simplifying data warehousing platforms, considerable cost savings and operating efficiencies can be achieved across the company.
"With both operational and customer data stored in one central repository, the business can easily manage, access and analyse information for faster decision-making and improved customer service," adds Strait.
