Discover operates the Discover Card and Discover Network for more than 50 million card members and approximately four million merchant and cash access locations.

As part of the agreement, Discover has purchased Teradata hardware, software and consulting services and will migrate its legacy data warehouse to Teradata-based technology while closely integrating with Discover's existing third-party tools and partners.

Diane Offereins, chief information officer, Discover Financial Services, says the Teradata solution will create faster response times to query and report requests and improve data reliability and accessibility, and will scale to meet any increase in demand.
