The west coast bank says it will use NCR's Aptra Edge open-architecture, client-server software to power its national cash machine network.

Tom Korzik, ATM executive, Bank of America, says the move will enable the bank to deploy a single application environment across the multivendor network.

"It gives us the ability to decrease the time and cost involved in developing and initiating new functions across our network," he says.

NCR claims that more than 70% of all multivendor projects worldwide currently run on the Windows-based Aptra platform.
