Wincor Nixdorf buys IT services firm Datalect

Wincor Nixdorf has acquired Datalect Limited, a UK-based provider of IT support services, for an undisclosed sum.

Datalect provides IT services that include managed and professional services, help desk, networking, hardware maintenance and software support.

The company has over 300 employees, including 60 help desk staff and over 200 engineering and customer service personnel.

Wincor Nixdorf says the acquisition will broaden its position in the UK market for IT services targeted at retail companies and banks.

Philip Mantle, managing director, Wincor Nixdorf, adds: "The acquisition of Datalect will enable Wincor Nixdorf to continue its drive to deliver total managed service and solution propositions. With a significant proportion of its operations in retail and banking, Datalect will help us extend our reach into our target markets."

Mantle says Wincor intends to retain Datalect's focus on its existing customer base and ensure it maintains its current service offering.
