Parex, Latvia's largest bank, has contracted with TietoEnator for the supply of IT outsourcing services and implementation of the vendor's BankSyst retail banking software at its proposed branch in Tallinn, Estonia.
TietoEnator's BankSyst is specifically developed for smaller banks and start-ups that want to set up businesses quickly.
Loit Linnupõld, head of the Tallinn branch, Parex Bank, says Parex has applied to Estonian authorities for a license to open a branch in the country.
"BankSyst will enable us to open doors quickly after getting the Central Bank's permit," says Linnupõld.
