The bank went live with TietoEnator's PBS Card module in May this year, which has been used to process five million cards so far.

TietoEnator is also currently replacing the bank's deposits system with an application based on its PBS Deposit and PBS Corporate Account modules. The new deposits solution is expected to be operational before the end of 2004.

The new contract covers the latest release of three modules from TietoEnator's PBS suite.

Gert Engman, chief information officer, Swedbank, says the implementation of the PBS cards module fulfilled the bank's expectations: "These solutions are modern and well proven and will assist IT in delivering added value and competitiveness to our business."
