Payment transactions and files at the two banks will be exchanged with EBA Step2 via SwiftNet's FileAct service.

TietoEnator's ProSwitch EBA Step2 solution includes bulking/debulking and mapping services, creation of accounting and service messages, administration, monitoring, audit trail and reconciliation services.

Swedbank says it plans to participate in the second wave of EBA Step2. Marie Barck Wiklander, manager, Swift services, Swedbank, says the solution was easily integrated with the bank's existing application architecture and facilitated full automation.

Michel Harlange, assistant vice president, IT money transfer and Swift, Dexia Bil, adds: "ProSwitch assumes full responsibility for all administrative, functional and communicative processes for EBA Step2. Changes to our payment applications are kept to a strict minimum."
