The wide-ranging agreement includes supporting ATB's core banking and administration systems, office productivity applications, and financial systems. It also covers management of mainframe, server, desktop, help desk, and network services.

IBM is redefining how it delivers all of these services to ATB by moving to an on-demand environment, wherein the bank can scale up and scale down IT support in response to evolving customer demands and business need.

The Canadian institution has also signed a separate $3 million deal with IBM to purchase 100 cash machines to be installed over the next year.
