This is the first piece I've read that both appreciates the role of SVB (and its loss) along with providing some companies to follow. The velocity of commercial deposits is something I never dreamed would be an issue, but here we are.

Holy smokes, you said what I've been thinking. I went to both shows as well (for 2 years straight). Here are a couple of observations:
1. M2020 is filled with companies that won't be with us in 2-3 years.
2. BAI had great programming for banks and established vendors. It did feel smaller.
3. Event business is tough, so M2020 owners got out at the right time.
4. M2020 breakouts are largely bought/influenced by sponsors. I'm sure sponsorship has influence on BAI too, but they seem to really feel compelled by providing value to members/attendees.
5. The conference highlight the gap between those companies who want to kill FI's and those that want to work within the existing envrionment.
