It's the first time I've heard the term in general use, but it seems that I'm well behind the curve. The phrase was first coined by Andrew McAfee from Harvard one year ago as a means to describe the introduction and implementation of social software within the enterprise, and the social and organisational changes related to its use.
The Enteprise 2.0 concept is diametrically opposed to another up-and-coming buzzword, Bubble 2.0, which describes the irrational exuberance associated with the Web 2.0 movement.
Both terms have their ardent supporters and detractors.
Personally I'm pushing for Enterprise 2.0 to enter mainstream parlance first, if only to stave off the inevitable arrival of Web 3.0 and my own migraine 2.0.
