The tale of two ladders for Mr Same Guy

ChatGTP understood me and wrote:

“In a world where data flows like rivers but trust is dammed up behind bureaucratic walls, there lives Mr. Same Guy.

By day, he's an employee — filing reports, logging into systems, juggling approvals.
By night, he’s just himself — paying bills, accessing health records, verifying who he is to various services.

In the old world, he needed different tools, passwords, and proof every time. One for work. One for home. None of them talked to each other. It was exhausting.

But then, two ladders appeared in front of him.
Each led to the same cloud-kissed summit: a better data economy — fair, secure, and user-centric.

One ladder was marked “Personal”, the other “Organizational”.

ChatGTP did after several attempts draw a simple picture - see here: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/bo-harald-4768b51_imagine-two-ladders-with-the-same-rails-activity-7315261662989639681-r0EU?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAABPj1oB9_D7YNYACmHvY9HioUqpuULqZCo - with my text here.

  • Both ladders have the same rails. The left is the data issuer’s general purpose de-facto EUDI-interoperable organisation wallet. The right hand one is the wallet used by the verifier. Often the the same as most organisations are both issuers and verifiers.
  • The 1st rung in both ladders is the identity building wallet (over 70 available from the markets as per OWF list).
  • The 2nd rung in both is the personal identification credential (available as Bank ID in the Nordics – soon also state issued).
  • The credential example list is very long and varies depending on role and event. Some examples in the table.

The next plateau Mr Same Guy is climbing to - by getting verified credentials needed in life and business events -  could be called the Era of digital Trust for AI.

Especially as the verified data in wallets will make it safe and easy to employ organisational and personal AI-agents.

The platform Mr Same Guy’s ladders stand on is based on legislation and other work done in EU, in the EWC-consortium and member states – much based on earlier work in Trust over IP for Self-Sovereign Identity and for my part in MyData and the Findy-consortium.

No doubt that the dynamic duo of the identity wallets and AI-agents will be the safe and ethical way forward toward the next AI-levels.
