As many of us have seen, there is no shortage of wallets on offer. www.findynet.fi/en/ has compiled a list to support ongoing issuing, holding and verifying verified data tests - and to support the work in Open Wallet Foundation. https://lnkd.in/d_KtQNAx . Please take a look. It is impressive.
One could imaging that EU member states will in many cases consider deploying these instead of doing coding work on their own. Not only for citizens (free of annual charges) but also for own issuing of hundreds and hundreds of credentials (especially important to lower the administrative burden in SMEs) and verifying incoming data from citizens and organisations. All to speed up the immense productivity leap on offer - and save tax payers' money. But of course you do not need wallets before there is a proper supply of credentials. So the focus - especially for the public sector - already throwing money (especially in EU) at large scale pilots - should be to make the market by first promising availability of all the credentials they have and then starting to push them out as soon as possible.
Action is all.
