Part of the HDFC Group in India, HDFC Standard Life was formed in 2000 through a partnership with the UK's Standard Life Assurance Company.

HDFC Standard Life is initially implementing Process Suite to automate and streamline the processing of new business in Mumbai, but Staffware says the firm intends to extend the deployment across the organisation.

The insurer says it selected the software for its scalability and ability to support enterprise-wide process management.

Separately, Staffware has launched its Indian operations, which will target the BPM market in the region.

The vendor first established a presence in India in the late 1990s through the development of its partner programme. Paul Maguire, country manager for Staffware India, says: "The Indian operations will add significant value to our global presence."

In March, Staffware secured a contract from India's HDFC Bank for its BPM and workflow software.
