Texas-based ATM deployer Cardtronics has acquired 1100 ATM locations and the related merchant contracts from independent sales organisation National Bank Equipment Corporation (NBEC), for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition expands Cardtronics ATM network to more than 11,000 locations, greatly increasing its presence in New York State and the surrounding area.
Jack Antonini, chief executive officer, Cardtronics, says: "As the industry continues to consolidate, we are aggressively pursuing the acquisition of well-managed ATM portfolios like NBEC's to fuel our growth."
NBEC says Cardtronics has the infrastructure in place to minimise any disruptions to customers.
