Svenska Handelsbanken is to centralise its payment processing operations with the installation of TietoEnator's SwiftNet connectivity solution ProSwitch at its headquarters in Sweden.
The ProSwitch installation is to form the cornerstone of a major overhaul of payments processing at the bank as part of the mandatory upgrade path to the IP-based SwiftNet, says Ellen Johnn, IT and business analysis at Svenska Handelsbanken
Mikael Sundkvist, in charge of Swift business development at the bank, adds: "ProSwitch will also enable us to centralise the Swift traffic for our foreign branches and subsidiaries."
He says the agreement may be extended to include Svenska Handelsbanken's foreign branches.
