The modular software application will provide financial institutions with complete inhouse autonomy to issue credit cards, authorise transactions, calculate interest and provide statements, with proprietary debit cards processed via CR2's Sparrow product, the company says.

Running on Windows NT and Unix, CR2 says the software is compatible with existing multi-card management systems and with business procedures currently employed by financial institutions. Banks will be able to offer a range of credit facilities and procedures for card payment, settlement and fee processing, report management and lost and stolen cards, claims the company.

CR2 points out that system security is managed by a security sub-system that allows banks to implement their own security policy and define user groups and permissions. For card security, AccountMaster provides real-time checking and account authorisation for all online transactions.

John Lovell, sales manager, CR2 says the system's modular architecture allows financial institutions to choose a level of investment appropriate to their individual channel management strategy.
