Under the agreement, Itex, the largest IT solutions provider in the Channel Islands, will continue to offer BankWorld as the technology backbone for consultancy and support services. The alliance will also encompass a wider variety of channel management services including ATM's, smart cards and credit card management systems.

Itex already provides IT services for a range of blue chip companies in the Channel Islands including Royal Bank of Scotland International, Lloyds TSB and HSBC

BankWorld was selected earlier this year by Guernsey-based NM Rothschild & Sons to provide the platform for secure delivery of Web and WAP-based banking services to its private client base. Peter Rose, managing director at NM Rothschild, says: "We believe that delivering our services through the Internet using BankWorld will enhance the experience of our existing clients, in addition to bringing our private banking philosophy to a wider audience."

The extended partnership between CR2 and Itex Group Jersey will be launched with a seminar entitled 'The Internet & Private Banking - A New Alliance' on Friday 1 December. CR2's security partner, Baltimore Technologies, will also be present at the Grand Hotel, St. Helier, Jersey, between 9.30am - 1.30pm.
