Oracle says the bank has selected the core human resources, training administration, intelligence and self-service modules from its package to reduce cost and time spent on HR administration.

The self-service module will be made available to the bank's 1375-strong workforce at its Brussels headquarters and 300 branches across Belgium to enable employees to access and update staff records over the Internet.

Pierre Braun, CIO, Landbouwkrediet/Credit Agricole, says: ""We chose Oracle because we needed a system that would require minimum customisation and that would be up and running quickly."

Oracle also provided consultancy services and will be providing bank staff with training courses.

Landbouwkrediet/Credit Agricole also uses the vendor's general ledger system and Oracle9i database.

Rollout commenced in early February 2003 and is expected to be complete by March 2003.
