US-based BB&T Corporation is to implement Viewpointe's cheque image archiving technology to electronically store and access financial documents.
The technology will enable the bank to provide customers with immediate access to cheque information, which will be stored in Viewpointe's national archive.
Viewpointe says the service will eliminate transportation and duplicate processing costs of paper-based payments.
Leon Wilson, BB&T operations division manager, says: "Cheque imaging provides a valuable service to our clients who need to access information about their transactions anytime, anywhere."
